The day was spent visiting the Diocletian Palace in Sibenik that was built in the 3rd century. Diocletian’s mausoleum has become a cathedral. His remains were removed as he was likely among the worst persecutors of early Christians and the cathedral is St Dominius one of the martyrs of that time. Additionally, I visited Jupiter’s temple nearby. Some of us climbed up the stairs before lunch to the fortress above the town.I was happy with this as it’s a National Park. We walked to the large lake and crossed in a tiny ferry into a monastery on an island. The large lake is a deep blue seen here with the little lake a brilliant green and the monastery in view.Later we had a chat and demonstration of another and lavender oil which is why the island is famous. Regrettably prognosis thunderstorms meant we did not stay the night there but rather went on the opposite side of the island to Vela Luka. We didn’t go there and left again at 3 am on Thursday to sail to Mljet.: I work in a big enterprise, which has offer of Croatia.
